Christmas has come and gone and most likely a lot of you got a bunch of shiny anodized bobbles for your scooter. Some of them even came from Highland Cycles and we very much appreciate the business.....
I hear people all the time talking about what it takes to can go faster, ride smoother and be better on a bike. Always looking for the magic bullet to up their skill level. I am so guilty of this too. I am always hoping to find that one product or suspension setting that will bump me up a class at the races or win me my next plastic trophy.....
BUT....
Then I remember the only piece of advice I could ever get out of an old boss of mine when I asked him how to go faster. Now you have to understand this man is a 9 time ISDE competitor with 6 Gold Medals and was top American once too. He KNOWS fast!
Long ago, early in my motorcycling life I asked him.. "How do I go faster? What do I need?" In his very dry and "matter of fact" way, he looked at me and said "Buy gas and tires!" I remember thinking to myself "Race gas? Which tires?" so I asked him. He said "NO, if you ride your bike enough to get faster you will need lots of gas and lots of tires!"
That has stuck with me ever since and it is always my goal to burn a ton of gas and wear out lots of tires every year. Now unfortunately I will never be FAST but I am much faster than I was and I have more fun than anyone!!!
So, while we would love to sell you all the doodads to adorn your bike also, Highland Cycles actually hopes that we sell all of you TONS of tires in 2017!!!!
